Dynamic vs Static QR Codes: which one should you use?
If you've ever scanned a QR code at a restaurant, paid for parking, or watched a TV ad with a corner code, you've used both static and dynamic QR codes - probably without noticing.
Static QR codes encode the destination directly inside the QR pattern. Once printed, the data is set in stone. They're free forever, work without internet, and are perfect for things that won't change: WiFi credentials, vCards, plain text.
Dynamic QR codes encode a short URL that redirects through us. The actual destination lives in our database - so you can change it anytime, track every scan, and pause the code if you need to.
Rule of thumb: if you might want to change the destination, choose dynamic. If the data is permanent and offline-friendly, static will do.
